[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Decent furniture is a worthy environment, according to Galerie 46, one of Juniper's top retailer partners. Several years ago, the company decorated Gubi furniture with a Milanese palazzo as part of a temporary exhibition, and now decided to repeat the successful experience with the Russian Museum. The result of this collaboration was a project where furniture from iconic designer brands from the Galerie 46 showroom chain was captured by photographer Sergei Ananyev in the interiors of the legendary Marble Palace in St. Petersburg. The collaboration was recently featured in Elle Decoration.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="19680" img_size="full" onclick="custom_link" link="https://www.juniper-design.com/products/thin-task-lamp/"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Juniper's THIN Task Lamp contributes to this installation that blends modernized furniture and lighting to classic and timeless architecture. Is there a project that keeps you up at night?

It seems like it is everything added together that keeps me up at night. Which project specifically probably depends on the day. My work at Oculus is pretty consuming, and I am always thinking about new ideas for Juniper and Visual Comfort. I also tend to continually add to the ever-growing backlog of personal projects I’ll likely never get to.

How does your interest in design and function intersect with your work on tech gear?

I guess I am interested in almost every type of problem? I feel like they might inform each other a bit. Lighting design is often driven only by the designer, and the lights become artistic statements, while complex consumer electronics can often look like a literal illustration of constraints and requirements. In contrast to these outcomes, the simple and modular nature of the Juniper THIN line is more like a toolkit for architects and designers to use for their vision, while details like the stretch fabric canopy on the interior of the Oculus Rift bring a level of unexpected delight.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="6124" img_size="full" alignment="center" onclick="custom_link" link="http://www.juniper-design.com/products/thin-chandelier/"][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]

About the THIN Chandelier

The THIN Chandelier is an intriguing, whimsical light fixture with appendages reminiscent of spider legs that leave an impression upon installation. It has 12 hinged arms, each one precisely machined in solid brass, that contract and extend to discover infinite geometric shapes and patterns. Form an arachnid-like light fixture or collapse its linear tubings to mold a concaved THIN Chandelier, enforcing a flexible architecture in any modern space.   With slender aircraft cables that rid of obstruction, the THIN Chandelier appears to suspend magically and weightlessly. Its LED lamping is designed to dim, allowing the THIN Chandelier to transform from an exciting light fixture into a more intimate source of illumination.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Browse the THIN Chandelier" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.juniper-design.com%2Fproducts%2Fthin-chandelier%2F|||"][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Read More Press Features" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.juniper-design.com%2Fpress%2F|||"][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]

LightNOW Examines the THIN Solids Collection

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]LightNOW has been providing news and opinion to the lighting industry for nearly eight years. Craig DiLouie, a veteran industry journalist, had featured the new THIN Solids Collection in the popular lighting blog and newsletter platform to spread the news about our newest lighting addition.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image="17295" img_size="full"][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Our THIN Solids Collection offers a group of lighting designs featuring configurations such as a Tetrahedron, Cube, and Diamond, to represent the Platonic Solids. Solid brass connectors join ½-inch diameter light tubes to create intricate and symmetrical three-dimensional shapes for impactful pendant installations or grand chandeliers using clusters of the THIN Solids.   The product of collaboration with industrial designer Peter Bristol (who daylights as head of industrial design at Facebook), the THIN System is based on simple and minimal lines that magnetically snap into place. Light segments freely rotate to customize illumination properties. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image="18397" img_size="full"][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The THIN System began with the THIN Task Lamp as a solution for adjustable task lighting in the most compact silhouette possible. With this technology, an entire system was born. From a single line, the collection expanded into prisms, geometric shapes, and now extends into the third dimension. Lengths can be customized, as well as many other features of the design, to accommodate hospitality, commercial, and residential spaces for unique installations.

The THIN light was the first incarnation and it has since taken on a life of its own. I don’t really feel ownership over it. It’s not my lamp, it’s not even Juniper’s anymore, it belongs to the people. Architects and designers can use it to do almost anything they want, it’s like a LEGO set for adults. -Peter Bristol

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]DesignBoom is a leading design new authority to bring the design industry the latest news, trends, and upcoming faces. Recently, they featured Claus Porto, a retail store in the heart of New York City that was designed by Tackleblox Architecture.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="18690" img_size="full" alignment="center" onclick="custom_link" img_link_target="_blank" link="https://www.designboom.com/architecture/tacklebox-claus-porto-interiors-new-york-jeremy-barbour-02-15-2019/"][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The Portuguese-grounded retail interior focuses on beauty and fragrance displayed in a central archway of niches and vignettes. As the first international storefront for the 131-year old brand, Claus Porto New York reflects the design themes and motifs of its base culture under the direction of Jeremy Barbour with Tacklebox.   The 42-foot archway greets customers as they enter into an immersive experience. 1,500 tiles of milled Portuguese cork are faceted to mimic Lisbon's historic Casa Dos Bicos. Juniper's THIN Multiples Dyad lines the entire archway to act as a central focus, guiding customers through the space. The Dyad has about 10 connected sections, creating two long profiles of light with a 1/2-inch profile. The solids brass material of the THIN System pops against the archway's neutral white tone, offering warmth and a touch of luxury to the dynamic design of the space.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Browse the THIN Multiples Dyad" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.juniper-design.com%2Fproducts%2Fthin-multiples-dyad%2F|title:THIN%20Multiples%20Dyad||"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Discover More Press Features" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.juniper-design.com%2Fpress%2F|||"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

THIN Solids Collection in Design Milk

Jun

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]DesignMilk, one of the industry's leading design news authorities, has featured the THIN Solids to highlight their innovative contemporary design. With 1/2-inch profile LED light arrays, the THIN Solids Collection creates volumes of light inspired by the Platonic Solids.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="17295" img_size="full" onclick="custom_link" img_link_target="_blank" link="https://design-milk.com/junipers-thin-system-expands-with-help-from-the-platonic-solids/"][vc_column_text]

“We began the THIN System with a single line, emphasizing minimalism and compact technology. The collection grew into the Multiples and Primaries collections, offering geometric 2D shapes and simple prism silhouettes,” said Shant Madjarian, Juniper Founder. “The THIN Solids Collection was the next logical evolution for the THIN System, expanding into the 3D Platonic solids.”
As an extension of Juniper’s collaboration with Peter Bristol, the THIN Solids Collection is inspired by the Platonic Solids, and translates the three-dimensional shapes into illuminated sculptures.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="18397" img_size="full" onclick="custom_link" link="https://www.juniper-design.com/2019/05/20/modern-pendant-collection-thin-solids/"][vc_column_text]The THIN Solids Tetrahedron displays a triangular silhouette. One of the five Platonic solids, the Tetrahedron is considered one of the strongest structural shapes for durability under pressure. The THIN Solids Cube represents truth, appearing unbiased from all angles. Perfect symmetry offers a strong voice with perpendicular angles and illuminated edges. The THIN Solids Diamond features opposing forces that join at its center to create a symmetrical and harmonious octahedron shape.   Read Design Milk's article about the THIN Solids Collection here.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Discover New Lighting" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.juniper-design.com%2Fproducts%2F|title:Products||"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Explore More Press Features" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.juniper-design.com%2Fpress%2F|title:Press%20%26%20Media||"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
