[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Chioco Design, designers of the FreeIt Data Solutions Office Space, has installed Juniper's brass linear lighting in their 04 Loft Project. Principal Designer, Jamie Chioco, recently offered his design philosophy with us. Learn more about Chioco Design here. The 04 Loft Project is a residential 3-level, 2-bedroom, 3-bathroom space with a clean and contemporary design and open floor plan. The loft utilizes neutral tones and simple textures to open the space up and create a calming flow throughout the home. The modernized kitchen features a stunning black marble island adorned with camel stools as its central focal point, and surrounded by white countertops and herringbone tile backsplash. The kitchen's cabinetry offers openness with its light wood tone and rich brass accents. To mimic the brass luxurious material, Chioco Design chose Juniper's THIN Surface Mount Display Lights in Satin Brass to rest between white ceiling slats for a uniquely creative and intriguing installation.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image="17761" img_size="full" onclick="custom_link" link=""][vc_column_text]

Design Director Junho Choi Talks About On Restaurant Project

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Design Director Junho Choi sat down with us for an exclusive look inside the design process for their newest project, On. The New York-based Korean restaurant features a no-frills approach to design to keep the focus on the restaurant's high-end cuisine. Discover the project here, and learn what Junho Choi has to say about the design below.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="17739" img_size="full" onclick="custom_link" img_link_target="_blank" link="http://"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]

Who was involved in the project and what roles did they play? What were some common threads between the team members?

Studio Too is comprised of a team of interior designers based in Brooklyn NY. We enjoy the challenges and opportunities of working within existing constructs.

What was the design inspiration and philosophy behind the space?

We worked with the owner and chef of the restaurant - Hand Hospitality - to create a space that would not distract from the simple, but very sophisticated menu. The hotpot served at O:N exposes the cooking process as each ingredient is added to the bowl of broth cooking in front of you. We translated this by stripping the interior down to it's basic elements. The existing cinderblock walls and concrete floors are exposed while new elements such as the Juniper lighting, stone bench and kitchen walls contrast these rough textures. Each interior element is clear and honest on its own but creates a cohesive space when viewed as a whole.

What's your favorite area or part of the space?

Our favorite area is the bar and open kitchen area. The long narrow corridor opens up to two self-contained spaces, the existing footprint puts this space as the focal point of the restaurant and provides views into the kitchen.

Why did you choose Juniper lighting for this restaurant?

We were drawn to Juniper's lighting for its simplicity. Like the rest of the interior, the lights are the most elemental we could find with nothing unnecessary added to the design. When installed the fixture disappears while the warm light creates a great atmosphere for dining.

How did your personal aesthetic come into play for the project?

We try to be very delicate with our approach to a project and always take inspiration from the existing space. This has a different meaning for each project. For O:N it was important for us to not over design the interior and create a clear line between the new and the existing.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="17741" img_size="full" alignment="center" onclick="custom_link" img_link_target="_blank" link=""][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Discover Design Director Junho Choi's project here, to learn more about the space, design elements, and to see more photos by Chase Daniel.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Learn More About the ON Restaurant" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="|||"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Browse Lighting" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="|title:Products||"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

THIN Modular Lighting System Featured in Modern Loft

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dyer Studio Inc. designed the Marshall Wells Building in the Pearl, located in Northwestern Portland. The multi-level penthouse offers clean design elements, including Juniper's own THIN Modular Lighting System to adorn the master bedroom and modern bathroom.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="17432" img_size="full" alignment="center" onclick="custom_link" link=""][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In the master bedroom, natural medium-tone woods line the floors as well as outline windows and are matched through the bedroom's side tables. Grey and white neutrals are utilized through textiles to offer clean and airy aesthetics. To offset the light-to-medium tones in the space, Juniper's THIN Suspension adorns the center of the room above the bed. Its two-connected sections offers the ability to create custom dimensions for this space.

The bedroom and bathroom are connected through a divider wall with a window in the top quarter, to let light stream in through the bedroom, but offer the level of privacy a bathroom requires. The master bathroom showcases a modernized square bathtub and shower combination with stainless steel hardware and dark and light grey tilework. Its shared wall with the master bedroom features a light hexagonal tile by Ann Sacks in varying textures for a natural and tranquil aesthetic, complemented by the adjacent wall covered with similar tile in a slender rectangular shape.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="17435" img_size="full" alignment="center" onclick="custom_link" link=""][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="17436" img_size="full" onclick="custom_link" link=""][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On opposing sides of the bathroom are dual vanities, complete with medium-toned wood cabinetry by R. Olson Design to bring warmth and more natural texture to the spa-like setting. The central mirrors' pinstripe black frames are contrasted by Juniper's THIN Surface Mount Vanity Lights in Black Oxide finish. Rotatable LED light arrays are adjustable to direct light either toward or away from the user, providing an ideal set up for contemporary vanity lighting.

Staying within the existing plumbing constraints, we rearranged and expanded the bathroom footprint to create a luxurious ensuite. The goal was to bring natural light from the north bedroom windows into the bathroom space, which was previously shut off. A bath for two was a bonus. The new vanity provides an ideal makeup station in addition to generous storage.

Still continuing the restaurant's blue and white signature interior, GCD deepened the wall color, and added rich brass accents for a bright contrast. With brass linear frames on the wall aligned to each booth, a central THIN Surface Mount Display Light by Juniper splashes the wall with light. The Satin Brass finish matches the wall's brass frame. With the addition of brass accents to the setting, Staks was quickly elevated to an elegant dining space with rich materials and deep colors. The space now offers a high-end brunch location that the quality of the food can already live up to.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The space opens to a large dining room, lined with matching blue booths and white tabletops. Camp David in Industry City Elevates the Modern Coworking Space

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Camp David, a modern coworking space, resides in Industry City, as neighbors to Juniper. As a well-designed, carefully planned reinvention of the modern-day workplace, Camp David offers a sanctuary for small businesses, creative studios, and remote employees. In many of the office spaces, Camp David has placed THIN Task Lamps as task lighting to illuminate their desks. We spoke with Hannah, Brand Manager, and Robin, Membership Development Manager, to learn more about Camp David's ethos, the design of their space, and their future plans.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_gallery interval="3" images="17413,17410,17416" img_size="full" onclick=""][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]

What's Camp David's mission?

Camp David's mission is to provide entrepreneurs, freelancers and small businesses with flexible and functional workspace within an aesthetically pleasing environment.

Tell us about the design of your space.

The space is comprised of 50k sq ft spanning three floors. It was designed by David M. Sullivan, along with our founders Mazdack Rassi and Erez Shternlicht and they drew inspiration from Mies van der Rohe and Charlotte Perriand. There was an enormous focus on preserving the integrity of the existing space and its history while simultaneously creating a beautiful and timeless work environment–– we love the concrete columns and beams, original pine flooring and of course of view of lady liberty at sunset from our courtyard.

Why did you choose Juniper THIN Task Lamps for the desktops?

Every element of Camp David's design has been carefully considered, from our custom finishes to our task lamps. We selected the Juniper desk lamp because of its streamlined design and practical functionality embodies Camp David's mantra of "less is more". We love supporting independent designers within Industry City's ecosystem. Camp David is an LED only zone!

What's your experience in the Industry City's campus?

We love acting as nucleus for the campus, where members can take care of business or socialize outside of where they spend most their time. It's inspiring to be surrounded by hundreds of innovative businesses and creative companies and playing a part in the progression of the complex as a whole.

What are your plans for the future of Camp David?

We have been focusing on providing enriching content through events our members love most –– Breakfast discussions, author talks, happy hours. We are gearing up to expand another 20k sq ft within Industry City and are excited to continue growing our community.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval="3" images="17420,17421,17422,17419" img_size="full" onclick=""][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Explore More Lighting Projects" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="|||"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_btn title="Read More Articles" style="flat" shape="square" color="inverse" align="center" button_block="true" link="|||"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Minimalist White Kitchen Designed by Bright DesignLab with THIN Surface Mounts

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The kitchen and dining space of a 1969 treehouse in Portland, Oregon was remodeled by Bright DesignLab into a bright, multi-functional space for a couple who wanted to elevate their dining experience. Matte Black Faucet by California Faucets

The plumbing hardware by California Faucets is tinted in matte black, a popular style in modern interiors for its sophisticated appeal and also a strategic design that rids of evident fingerprints, especially in culinary spaces. A concrete central island connects to a dark-toned countertop with slender, symmetrical legs, adhering to the linear profile of the space. They also customized organic-shaped bar stools to diffuse sharp lines and indicate a relaxing atmosphere when owners decide to transform the kitchen into a space beyond its purpose. Photos by Bright DesignLab[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image="16540" img_size="full" alignment="center" onclick="custom_link" img_link_target="_blank" link=""][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
